I am a very large lady and a normal scale won't weigh me. I never dreamed I could find a scale that would weigh me at such a good price. When I took it out of the box, I wondered if such a small, light scale could weigh me, but it does! It doesn't take up much room on the floor, unlike a previous scale I had, which was very, very heavy, cumbersome and large. I like the talking feature because it's impossible for me to see the number without bending over and messing up the reading. I had doubts about being able to balance on a small surface, but I have no problem at all. The lady's voice is pleasant and I like the fact that it automatically turns itself off after 10 seconds or so. Very happy I got this... highly recommend!

We've used this talking scale in our home for a few weeks now and are relatively satisfied with it. The product seems fairly duraable. It also boasts a very wide platform which enhances stability which, being vision-impaired, is extremely important for us.
There are several steps that must be followed while using this product. This could conceivably prove bothersome for people used to getting their weight measurement by simply stepping on and off ordinary bathroom scales.
First, with this product you have to tap the unit to activate it. Next, you have to wait for it to announce, "It is ready, " signifying that the unit is prepared for the user to step onto the platform. That takes maybe 10 to 15 seconds. Finally, the unit will announce your weight and hold that measurement for 30-seconds before saying, Goodbye" and shutting itself off. Of course, once you have your measurement you are free to step off at any time.
The five-year warranty is a plus as is the accuracy to within 1%. Thus far, we have no major complaints though the simulated female voice used for the announcements strikes us as neither warm nor inviting.
